Background
Sedgefield Country Club home to the Wyndham PGA golf tournament needed a short game practice facility to accommodate its members and the visiting professional golfers that attend this PGA event. This project had a very tight deadline with construction starting in early April of 2020 and having a completion date by July 1st allowing 8 weeks for the grass sod to take root and be ready for play at the Wyndham Championship in August.
Our Solution
The site required piping a 140-foot-long open section of the stream that ran through the middle of the site with an Aluminum Structural Plate Box culvert that had to be built first. The time line to get these materials on site as well as build it were very critical in meeting the expected completion date. The structure was fabricated, built, and back filled within 3weeks keeping the project on schedule. In addition, three Filterra® Units were specified to capture future storm water runoff and filter the pollutants before they reach the stream. Filterra® units were chosen by the design engineer for their Green Infrastructure, high pollutant removal, and low design impact to the site.
